The first photos were taken in Rougemont and Northernhay Gardens, which surround the ruins of Rougemont Castle, Exeter. The public gardens surround the castle ruins on three sides and are pleasant to walk around. The castle was first built in 1068 to help William the Conqueror control the city.
Northernhay Gardens were laid out as an open park in 1612, restored in 1664 after the English Civil War,

Entrance gate into Kalemegdan fortress.
Kalemegdan fortress and park are the oldest part of the Belgrade urban area and historically the fortress was the core of the city. Today it is located to the north of the modern city centre.

Bachkovo Monastery is the second largest in Bulgaria. It lies in the valley of the Chepelare river (also known by the locals as Chaya), about 10km to the south of the town of Assenovgrad. The monastery is about a half hour bus ride from the city of Plovdiv.
The monastery was originally built in the mid-Byzantine period and was later destroyed by the Ottomans and has since been rebuilt.
