Chatham Dockyard was a Royal Navy dockyard from 1567 until its closure in 1984. It is located on the River Medway in Kent, England. During its 414 years of operation Chatham Dockyard built more than 500 ships for the Royal Navy. The site once covered 400 acres (1.6 sq. km) and employed over 10,000 skilled workers. After its closure as a Royal Navy dockyard, the 18th century core of the site was transferred to a charity,

Corfe Castle, Dorset, England, January 2024

Built on the orders of William the Conqueror shortly after the Norman conquest of 1066, Corfe Castle was one of the earliest castles in England to be built at least in part out of stone. The castle is located in Dorset, England. It sits in a prominent position, on a hill rising to 62 metres, within a gap along the Purbeck Hills. A village, also called Corfe Castle, adjoins to the south.

Tony at the top of the King's Staircase inside Kensington Palace. This was formerly the grand entrance to the King's State Apartments. In the background the walls and ceiling are painted with a depiction of the royal court at the time of George I. This was painted by William Kent in 1725-7. The 45 people shown were all real members of the court, although only a few have been identified. As well as King George himself, it includes Yeoman of the Guard in red coats, and two Turkish servants called Mustafa and Mahomet. — Tony at the top of the King’s Staircase inside Kensington Palace.
