Tony below a large Doric stone column. Above here is the location where the Olympic flame is lit before it takes its journey around the world to the Olympic Games in question. It has been lit here in modern times since the 1936 games in Berlin, Germany.

Graz is the capital of Styria and the second largest city in Austria. It’s a university city with no fewer than six academic establishments.

View across Ilulissat harbour. Storage tanks and houses on the far side. A small boat heading out.
Looking into the harbour, which is in a narrow rocky bay. Small dispersed chunks of ice floating in the water. Part of the town can be seen beyond with houses spread out amongst rocks and grass.

Tony touching a carved stone column with a dragon’s head outside the entrance to Thian Hock Keng temple. The temple is both Taoist and Buddhist. It was built starting in 1842 by Chinese immigrants in honour of the sea goddess Mazu.
