Vienna is the capital city of Austria, located in central Europe. This large historical city sits on the Danube River and contains many palaces and museums.

On the Ringstraße (Ring Boulevard), a circular boulevard, 4 kilometres long, which surrounds the Innere Stadt district in Vienna’s centre. Construction of the Ring Boulevard was initiated by Emperor Franz Joseph I in December 1857.

Steps up to the main door of the Franciscan Church of the Annunciation. The church was built 1646-60, replacing an older church on the site. It was commissioned by Franciscan monks, the red colour is symbolic of their order.

Tony and Tatiana in Ban Jelacic Square. This is the central square of Zagreb, located in the downtown pedestrian zone. The square is named after Josip Jelacic (1801-1859) who was ban (or governor) of Croatia between 1848 and 1859. He is credited with advancing the cause of Croatian statehood. A large statue of Jelacic on horseback can be seen in the background.

Approaching Mostar’s famous Old Bridge (Stari Most). Construction of the original bridge began in 1557 and it was completed approximately 10 years later. On its completion it was the widest man-made arch in the world.

Outside King Nikola’s Palace. The palace was built in 1885 close to the seashore. The palace was a present from King Nikola to his daughter Princess Zorka and his son-in-law Prince Petar Karadordevic.
